Who I Am

I'm Just a girl celebrating natural history with art!

Hello, my name is Barbara and I am the owner and operator of Object Natura.
Object Natura is a mixed media mashup of art and nature, of the whimsical and the macabre, the new and the reimagined.

My artistic Journey was born out of a love for the secret stories of nature. Since I was little I have been fascinated with being in the woods. The color of sunlight hitting lush moss, of stumbling upon a patch of mushrooms so perfectly placed you think it must be a faerie garden. The history of fossils, gemstones, and crystals.

I provide beautiful, handcrafted, wearable art, odd décor and paintings that celebrate the natural world and the fables found within it. I am always creating these tiny treasures so be sure to stop by often to see a celebration of natural history, reclaimed materials, and crystals galore.

As a lover of natural history I believe it is our place to showcase and educate future generations and curious folks alike about the history of fossils and minerals, life/death cycles, and the vast beauty in this world. My hope is that by doing so, we are reminded that this planet and the inhabitants of it need to be protected from harmful and unethical practices and that conservation is the key to a healthy and beautiful planet.

I hope that you find something that inspires and speaks to you while you visit! I'm constantly creating so if you like my style please give me a follow on Instagram as I am branching out in new artistic directions regularly and would love your feedback! We hope you'll join me on my exploration and be a part of the adventure.

What’s with the bones and bugs?

Object Natura does not condone the killing of animals for their hides, skulls, and bodies as a means of profit. We source all bones ourselves or by certified ethical means. We use bones, insects, and other creatures who died of natural causes in our work so that we may have them live on in a place of honor.

What is your return policy?

I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations, but please contact me if you have any problems with your order and I will do my best to make it right.

How do I take care of my Stained glass?

Hanging instructions- Do not hang this from a suction cup hanger. This can be hung in a window or on a wall with secure hanging hardware that is able to hold 10+lbs.

Cleaning instructions- If dusty or in need of cleaning, rinse with mild soapy water and lay flat to dry. Once dry you may carefully go over the solder lines with a magic eraser to restore shine and luster if you so choose. (skip that step for artworks with a dark patina) Please be mindful of any decorative or support wires as they might bend.

How do I take care of my Handmade jewelry?

None of Object Natura's wares should ever be worn in the shower, while sleeping or swimming.

If your BRIGHT copper tarnishes (as copper does) place it in a glass with a little bit of white vinegar and salt, swoosh around and rinse with cool water. Dry with soft cloth. To prevent or slow this from happening, keep stored in a plastic bag.

While we do our best to offer hypoallergenic options, if you have any questions please email us.
